Truth Quest does function as post-game content though, so there are some new mission types, the level cap is raised and there are some new mutations. The gameplay in Maneater: Truth Quest is pretty much identical to that of the base game and will see you swimming around, fighting with hunters and murdering almost anything that gets in your way with all of the abilities you have at your disposal. Westhaven is once again portrayed by Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live, Rick and Morty) and his delivery is just fantastic. This is mostly thanks to the fact that the entire journey is narrated by Trip Westhaven, the documentarian-turned-conspiracy theorist. The story itself is pretty entertaining and manages to keep the same tone and brand of humour from the base game. She heads to Plover Island, which is also known as Site P, to investigate what mysteries the island holds. The story follows the shark as she leaves Port Clovis after senses another, more sinister apex predator. Maneater is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.Maneater: Truth Quest picks up right after the events of the base game. Players will join investigative reporter Trip Westview and their bull shark protagonist to uncover the secrets that the government has tried to hide. The new content will cost $14.99, but players will finally be able to leave Portclovis and explore new regions. There's even going to be new objectives and bounty hunts available.Īssuming this isn't an April Fool's joke, Maneater: Truth Quest is scheduled to release sometime this Summer. Stronger Apex Predators will appear, and players will have to deal with increased military forces when they stir the pot. As the player grows in size and power, so too will the other creatures of the sea they must fight. New organ adaptations will become available, and the max level cap will increase up to 40, bringing the maximum size for the player's shark up with it. In terms of actual gameplay additions, players will be able to get an entirely new evolution set. Throughout the course of the game, she is able to grow into the mythical Mega, develop mutations that allow her to manifest bioelectricity, bone armor, or biotoxins, and more. The new DLC will provide in game explanations for this, but players will have to work to uncover these secrets. Although it was mostly played off during the game, this DLC seeks to answer the question of what makes the Bull Shark so special. Although there weren't a ton of details in the new trailer, but a press release reveals important information about the DLC. It must be said that this announcement did come on none other than April Fool's Day, so it's entirely possible that the whole thing is a prank, but the trailer and the announcement both seem legit. ![]() Tripwire Interactive, the brilliant mind behind the game, has just announced that players will be getting a DLC to extend the story and the world in Summer of 2021.
